Stusher is built privacy-first: your taste profile and library live on your device, not on our servers. There is usually no account to delete, and the easiest way to remove your data is to uninstall the App. This page describes every option available to you and what happens to your information in each case.
1. Delete your data from inside the App
- Open Stusher.
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Data.
- Tap Delete all my data.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
This will erase your taste profile, library (watchlist, watched, favorites, “not for me”), settings, and your local UUID. Stusher will return to the first-launch state. No backup of this data exists on our servers unless you previously enabled cloud backup.
2. Delete your data by uninstalling the App
Because all on-device data is stored in the App's encrypted private storage, uninstalling Stusher permanently removes that data from your device.
- Android: Long-press the Stusher icon → App info → Uninstall.
On Android, you can also wipe just the app's data without uninstalling: go to Settings → Apps → Stusher → Storage → Clear data.
3. Delete cloud backup data (Stusher Plus only)
If you opted in to cloud backup as part of Stusher Plus, your library and taste profile may also be stored on our backend (Supabase). To delete this backup:
- Open Stusher.
- Go to Settings → Cloud backup.
- Tap Delete cloud backup & sign out.
- Confirm. We delete the backup record from our backend within 24 hours.
If you can no longer access the App (for example, because your phone is lost), email us at privacy@stusher.app from the email address you used for your magic-link sign-in. We will verify your identity, delete your backup data, and confirm completion within 30 days.
4. What gets deleted
- Your unique device identifier (UUID)
- Your taste profile (genre preferences, ratings, duel results)
- Your library (watchlist, watched, favorites, “not for me”)
- Your settings (language, theme, notifications, country, streaming services)
- Any cloud-backup record associated with your magic-link email, if applicable
5. What we may retain
After deletion, we may retain limited information for legitimate purposes such as: complying with legal obligations (e.g., tax, fraud prevention), resolving disputes, enforcing our agreements, and operating aggregated, non-identifiable analytics. We retain only what is necessary and for no longer than required.
Purchase records held by Google Play are governed by its policies; we do not have the ability to delete those records.
6. Submit a deletion request by email
You can also email us a deletion request at privacy@stusher.app. Please include:
- The subject line: “Data deletion request”
- Your magic-link email (only if you used cloud backup)
- Confirmation that you understand the deletion is permanent
We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request.
